Club Captain - Lee Russell

To all members and visitors,

As the newly appointed Golf Captain for 2025 and on behalf of the clubs committee and golfing professional and staff, I extend a warm welcome to all members and visitors to Haverhill Golf Club, and I look forward to a year of great golf, camaraderie, and enjoyment on and off the course.

It is with great pleasure and a sense of privilege that I take on the role of Golf Captain for Haverhill Golf Club during a period of significant change and improvements that the club continues to strive for, to enhance the experience either on or off the golf course.

With the clubs continued efforts to improve the playing experience, it leaves little more to say than it’s a hidden gem and will not disappoint those golfing enthusiasts!

I hope as Club Captain, I can match the clubs’ efforts in their continued drive for that special golfing experience, even if it’s a friendly smile or someone to speak too!

I trust that the website can provide you with the information you need, however, if more information is required, please do not hesitate to contact our office staff who will be only too happy to help.

Visitors, societies and private functions are always welcome at Haverhill. We trust that the course and the warm welcome you will receive from members and staff alike will provide you with a memorable and truly enjoyable golfing experience, and one that you will be keen to repeat.

Enjoy your time at Haverhill Golf club

Lady Captain - Verity White

As Lady Captain , myself and our Ladies Committee welcome new ladies of any ability at Haverhill Golf Club.

Our ladies section at Haverhill Golf Club is a small but friendly section.

We play both friendly and competitive matches, we also play club competitions on the first and third Wednesday’s of the month and on some Saturday’s.
We have a team in the County Weston league and also enter other County competitions - Stearn, Cranworth and the Suffolk Seniors Jubilee Shield. We also encourage entries into National Competitions such as Coronation Foursomes, The Ping, Daily Mail Foursomes, Aussie Spoons and the Annodata.

We play regular friendly matches with several local clubs, both ladies and mixed matches which are always very enjoyable.

Our ladies have an annual overnight Away Day which involves two days of fun, golf and socialising.

Senior's Captain - Glenn Patullo

It is my great pleasure to be the Seniors Captain for 2025. Those that have held the position in the past know it is a ‘hands on’ job which also includes being on the Club’s Management committee.

The Seniors section of Haverhill Golf Club is an extremely important part of the club as a whole and is a very active and diverse section that values all its members. We have a committee made up of Senior players which as Captain I chair. It oversees the running of the Seniors Section including all the competitions listed below.

There is something for all seniors within this section of the club and the competitions that are available include:

Monday League
This is a mixed competition run yearlong on Monday mornings, the league being played on most Mondays interspersed with cup and trophy competitions throughout the year.

Bits
I’ve been at the club for five years now and was welcomed into the Seniors Section from day one and introduced to the Bits competition almost immediately. If you want to get to know the club and your fellow golfers, I can recommend it as the best way to do it!
The Bits is a fantastic competition played throughout the year on Friday mornings (midweek playing available) with a multitude of prizes for different aspects of golf, 5 x leagues, team scores, individual scores, eclectic, twos and the bits themselves. It all sounds serious, but it is played in good spirits with around 55 seniors regularly turning out. There are two distinct groups within the Bits - The Early Birds who regularly fill the early tee times and the Pygama Brigade who struggle to get out of bed and fill the later slots!

Summer knockout competition
Played yearly with a guaranteed Lady v Gent final.

Seniors Awayday
An away day open to all seniors, an opportunity to visit another golf course en-masse with prizes award, including a very nice trophy for the winner.

Friendly matches
We have forty fixtures split into home and away versus other likeminded clubs running from March to October and all those interested in playing are certain to get a game or two each month.

Mixed matches
Fixtures versus other likeminded clubs.
